THE LOVING THAT YOU'VE WASTED.

It was a little over year ago that we sent out a wake up call to industry A&R's to get wise to the fresh sound of Harlem's finest lady MC Azealia Banks, and shortly thereafter XL snatched her up and locked her away to get to work on her debut album. Since then it's been all but radio silence from the one they now call Miss Banks (save for a recent feature on the new Major Lazer EP), until this week when she resurfaced with a sterling out-of-nowhere cover of Interpol's "Slow Hands". The big surprise? Turns out girl has some PIPES. Gone is the X-rated flow she rolled out on early tracks like "Seventeen", replaced by soft, honey-throated vocals and a soulful croon that establishes Banks as the total package and a force to be reckoned with on the 2010 hip-hop landscape. Serious. Gamechanger.
